Sudan in Six Words

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

By Patrick Wong

The conflict in Sudan is no stranger to headlines, but it is to the Six-Word form. See how blogger and writer,Patrick Wilson, used the Six-Word Memoir to convey the gravity of the situation in Sudan in his short video. Many stories have sprang from the Sudanese civil war like that of the Lost Boys; two Dinka boys from Sudan who made an incredible journey to the US. One of the boys, Valentino Achak Deng wrote a book, What is the What, about his experiences. Earlier this year, Deng sat down with SMITH’s Miranda Martin, where he had more than six words to say about his emigration from Sudan and his efforts to rebuild what has been destroyed there.
