“Many Hands Have Kept Us Afloat”

try-1.jpgAs the six-love spreads, cool things keep coming back at us from the community. We’re thrilled, inspired, and grateful, and figured we’d share a few. Here’s a blogger who created a cartoon image celebrating her girlfriend’s inclusion in the book (on the right; amazing, huh?). Here, a new six-word memoir video highlighting one family’s short, short stories. Technorati shows over 2,300 blog reactions to Not Quite What I Was Planning, our NPR story is climbing the Digg charts, and contributor Frank Gilroy has begun a registry so you can read more by your favorite mini-memoirists. But my favorite we-never-dreamed-this-would happen moment? Minister Rev. Dr. Bill Steadman suggesting that the faithful distill their beliefs by using the form to ask themselves “What Would Jesus Do? …if asked to write a six-word memoir!”

Got a great extra credit project we missed? Let us know! Want to spread the word? Online goodies are here, and the Six-Word Memoir flickr group is just awaiting your party pics, six slams, homemade memoir t-shirts, found six worders, and beautiful smiling faces.
