Backstory
I'm supposed to sixth graders how to score high on mandatory standardized tests. That's what education has become... and what I have to do day in and day out, until I snap, teach from my heart, and say (internally) the hell with the scores; I just want my students to be lifelong readers and literate writers.THAT'S usually when I get parental comments like the one above.
