A smile from a dear friend.

I took a chance and wrote a personal letter. It was received warmly with a smile. It inspired me to write more letters, and develop my sense of narrative, which had been away from me for many years and which previously came to me while being extremely upset. Now the words arrive in groups, forming their own structures and foundations to build entire thoughts on. And they arrive without pretense, they just become. And when I see that smile as it is read, I know it went well. Being understood is an important part of the process.
