I agree with you! A history of Americans' attitudes toward "others" is quite revealing: we like whom we like and we hate whom we choose to hate... and that changes with times! But essentially, we hate whom we hate because of the wrong decisions we made in the past. We cannot regret those decisions so we continue to hate and/or dislike some simply because of those decisions! It is a shame but it is a curse we appear unable to shake off!
