Backstory

One of our local politicians was appointed to a vacant Senate seat by a impeached Governor. After testifying under oath that he had no contact with the Governor regarding the appointment he was allowed to take the oath of office.
He later said that the former governor had indeed reached out to him through his campaign manager. The campaign manager told him he had to raise $10,000 for the Governor but he couldn't do it in a short time so he spoke out saying he was approached and now faces possble perjury charges, disbarment proceedings and being ousted from the Senatorial office.Oh yea-Jail!
