Closer with each change of heart
Backstory
It was recently reported that a 'prominent' republican senator changed his position regarding gay marriage because two years ago his son came out to him. While I am thankful for each change of heart that brings us closer to marriage equality, it is annoying to me that it took him having a gay son to change his mind. It was okay for him to deny the GLBT community a legal marriage for so many years, until it meant one of his own children couldn't get married. Needless to say I appreciate this type of "flip-flopping" (as the political world calls it). And like I said, each change of heart brings us one step closer.
