Backstory
My van MAY be repaired (they found the rare German part in Detroit)and my insurance company WILL pay for it since the damage was a result of spilled battery acid. I head out to retrieve it tomorrow, assuming it passes the "cold start" tomorrow morning. A decent resolution to what seemed like a hopeless situation. Or as I said in a Six long ago, "Another link in my charmed life."

That is all too amazing! Who would have thought insurance would cover this kind of damage! I better read my policy closer! Yay for Detroit! Yay for the good service tech wherever you are! Yay for you!So happy for you. It makes me kinda believe even I could go on the road again.

Done, jl. Thx for the idea. And yes, DE, I don't feel quite so invincible as I did pre-breakdown but I feel better than when I was staring a $9k repair bill in the face. The mechanic found the part online on his own time. Awesome.Staraj says,
In 2013, Mercury will be retrograde from:February 23–March 17

Does that mean I should finish this trip before St Patrick's Day or start it after then????Staraj says,
I'm just the messenger. But those who believe this stuff would say you should wait until after the 17th. Or gird your loins extra heavily and take off now.http://www.almanac.com/content/mercury-retrograde

Ohmygosh, cats! Did they fix your vehicle so you can travel among the planets? Maybe you can go now, but just watch out for Mercury traveling backwards! And wear sunscreen when you get that close to the sun.
