Toddler chose pasta for food shelf.

Backstory

My three year old's Montessori classroom asked for preschoolers to bring in food donations this week. So tonight, when we stopped to get milk for our own house, I asked my daughter what she wanted for dinner. She said, "spaghetti and marinara!" a family favorite. When we got to the grocery aisle, she asked if we could buy 2 times the dinner for the food shelf. And we did. So, three cans of marinara, three boxes of pasta -- count her age every time -- and three boxes of Jiffy pizza dough mix (for the garlic bread). It's less than I would spend if we'd gone out tonight, and two families will share our meal sometime in the near future. It's not the first time I've donated items, but I get the same feeling of blessing every time, and I feel very connected to the world.
