although to be kind, Leroy Loggins once told me that there are no bad people, just bad behaviours- so I guess there are offensive behaviours rather than offensive people. Main thing is not to take offense.
I love rabbinic tales or zen stories. Simple truths. Your memoir reminds me of one I can only paraphrase. It is about someone carrying a woman across the river. Apparently this offended someone as it broke some rule. The wise person in the story said the real offense was that it was still bothering the person who witnessed said event while the two people directly involved had gone on their way.
