Sagacious says,

And will happily maximise profit that will be paid to the people willing to invest their hard-earned in the business- namely the shareholders. Such is the capitalist universe I and, probably you, live in.

DynamicDbytheC says,

I work for a non-profit. When the economy is tough, mostly always these days, they deal with cut-backs by letting natural attrition do it for them rather than eliminate jobs. It was voted a top company for working moms and employees over 50. I have them listed as a been partial beneficiary of my 403 retirement funds. They have treated me better than most of my blood relatives. I work in Healthcare and I love to go to work.

Too bad most companies don't get it. Turnover is low. Gratitude and attitude is high.
