They lied. Eighteen doesn't mean adulthood.

I think it is really around 30. And then there are those who never really reach it. You are well on your way and your memoirs are quite mature. Love this memoir.

TheAngstyPoet says,

TWELVE MORE YEARS??? *faints*

Well dang. Hopefully I'll be in a place of my own but I know my mom and aunt will still be telling me what to do.

canadafreeze says,

18 just means you are allowed to open the door. Being an adult is a very personal journey, Angsty. You're well on your way:-)

Loon says,

and many more lies to come

Bevvie says,

I <3 Loon's comment!

lillybrook says,

It just means accountability, and a different level of freedom (usually). I didn't feel like an adult until I had to care for someone else -- often putting them ahead of my own desires and needs -- and I'm not sure that's an age, but more a state of mind. So, 18 or 88...

AND, what canadafreeze said.

TheAngstyPoet says,

Thanks everyone.

Loon, I laughed really hard and then I realized the weight if the comment... Dammit.

CF & lily, they say its the journey that counts. I really hope so. But it's still good not to pay bills yet. Ps I like that- 'it's a state of mind'

notjustagirlintheworld says,

you can vote and fight (in a war) but not have a legal drink unless you are fighting in a war..

ErikaStellar says,

Well said. And I agree with Loon. Oh the lies. Adulthood is a mental state, DDC is right, some folks never reach it, some reach it too early.
