A sometime glimpse into fabulous life.

Backstory

Was invited to a friend's birthday party last night. Fabulous club on 33rd floor overlooking metro Detroit. (Metro D gets a bad rap... deservedly at times, but it's also quite lovely in places too) It was amazing to see all the beauty of the city... but man did I feel out-fabulous-ed. I loved my glimpse into the upper crust, but I'm more "middle of the loaf" in real life. Still, it was fun to step into a different strata for a quick peek!

Dragonflower says,

Sounds like fun! Although there is something different about the upper crust lifestyle. Of course you know you are fabulous as you are, but when surrounded by a different lifestyle, the fabulous dims a little, doesn't it? I've been there.

At Disneyland in Anaheim, there is a private club in New Orleans Square above the Blue Bayou restaurant. It is called Club 33. There must be something about the number 33. My then-husband was a waiter there while going to college at UC Irvine. He got dazzled by that lifestyle. Our marriage soon fell apart. I wasn't fabulous enough for him anymore.

But....so glad you had a good time. I love going to parties like that and then coming home and putting on my comfy clothes again. Do you watch Dowton Abbey? Imagine getting dressed up each night for supper! Watching that wears me out. :) Better to just visit, eh?

I've heard of Club 33... very exclusive. Someplace I'd never get to visit, let me tell you! LOL

Actually, last night we had to be taken up to the club by a guy with a pass card... so I felt much more chic than I actually am. Glad I dressed appropriately. Had a feeling it was going to be fancier than I'm used to.

All in all it was a great night, and I had a wonderful time.. reconnected with some friends I hadn't seen in a few years too. It was just a perfect night!

Glad I don't do it often though. Wow... it was amazing while it lasted however!
Today, it's back to yoga pants and a tie dye tee for me!
