Bullet proof smart boards, not dumb.
Backstory
My 12 year old reported that classrooms were now being equipped with bullet proof smart board which could double as a shield in case of gunfire. Smart boards make me sad. 3-4K a classroom, times all of the classrooms across the country means a lot of tax money wasted. I can't imagine the bill to make them bulletproof. Here's a better idea, solid steel door and doorframe that goes into a concrete wall and bulletproof metal shutters. Then you just have to worry about the firebomb thrown through to cheap ceiling tile.Also, is every teacher going to be Captain America? I can't imagine too many people having the body mass, lean muscle, etc. to be able to with stand the kinetic energy of an onslaught of 5.56 bullets or 12 gauge slugs.
