It might help "meditatively". It worked for 9 months and longer for everyone, no? But I get your point. My attitude is, fetal position until something spurs you to move, peace and contentment return by little by little through some or another action, then emotional momentum keeps us going until the next time the only thing to do is to curl up in a ball for a while. It's just that, as a man, getting told for years upon years that crying doesn't help, eventually one realizes that a) it does help, b) it's not frivalous, c) it's sometimes imperative to give up, and d) it's extremely unhealthy to pretend otherwise. I'd say those two things are fairly similar, crying and curling up in a ball.
