Never knew "love starvation" until now.

Backstory

Oh, my Alzheimer's-challenged husband, each meal that i share with the you that you are now leaves me hungry for the YOU that you were then.

This is hard for you...I know. So sorry

NumbrOneAunt says,

so very sorry for what you're going through ---- the dashes represent a prayer just sent up that God will grant you the strength for each day. your backstory reminds me of the dilemma i felt in talking about my mom after alzheimer's took her - i told people that i didn't know what to say: 'mom IS really smart' ? 'mom WAS really smart' ? while she was still alive i finally settled on saying 'when mom was herself....' again, i'm so sorry.

notjustagirlintheworld says,

I am so sorry. Know that you are loved here and we are sharing your meals in spirit.

canadafreeze says,

The heartbreak you suffer is palpable - it is a cruel disease. Writing can be cathartic - I'm so glad you are writing here.

DynamicDbytheC says,

I am living with someone who is declining physically, not mentally. It is a daily battle to accept the new man while screaming inside for the former man. Wish I had a magic wand for us.

scribbling_scribe says,

Thank you for the support everyone. So many of you are currently experiencing and/or have already survived the decline of loved ones so your empathy and kindness means much to me.
I so relate to your comment #1Aunt and prayers are most welcome.
If I ever find that magic wand DDbytheC, I will certainly share it with you.

DynamicDbytheC says,

Hope you have support.
