Out with old. In with new.

Backstory

The first day of 2013 brought a phone call that my hubby's grandmother had taken a sudden bad turn, and he should get to the hospital to see her as soon as he could. She'd had a slight case of pneumonia but overnight had become unresponsive and they didn't expect her to make it through the day. The family gathered and said their goodbyes and with all her loved ones around her, she passed that afternoon.
Two hours later and two floors up, her great grandson was born. What a crazy, poetic example of the circle of life.
Also of note, the baby's due date was December 25... which was also Granny's birthday.

This identical situation just happened to me, except my 43 year old cousin just passed, and as he did, a new life was born into our family. So sorry about the loss of your Grandmother

A beautiful, bittersweet story. I honestly got a little teary-eyed reading this.
