Both good! Seems they could hardly avoid it with the burden of all those worries. Makes me think of how I turned my normal dog into a neurotic one. :-)
Congratulations on MOTD. I favorited this when you first posted it, I liked it so much.I don't remember seeing the picture, though. I reminded me I had little tiny dolls like this in a little box when my daughter was little. Told her to give her worries to the dolls and they would take care of them. Today she is great about not letting stuff nag at her. Unlike me.
LOL Dynamic, some days I could wonder if someone has a Voodoo doll and is twisting the pins in me.
Worry dolls are typically very tiny (less than an inch). The ones pictured are Guatemalan worry dolls and actually more elaborate than the ones I’m familiar with.
I appreciate when concepts can be put into something concrete. Worry dolls, Dream catchers, (my Dream Catcher’s webs are tangled ;). Prayer flags, peace signs and the such.
When I was a girl we would make our own. I would let myself worry while winding the thread into a doll. In retrospect it was a sort of meditation and release.
Not only were they cute but the materials were easy to come by, even in shelters.
We would pull the threads out of every fabric thing we could get our hands on…rugs, curtains, sheets…our clothes. It started innocent enough with loose string but of course the hunt would be on for “prettier” or needed colors.
Thank ya’ll for the congratulations and for the feature.
Think I’m going to buy one for a loved one and fly some prayer flags.
these six words leapt out from the sermon I heard in church this morning. Thanks Pastor Jodi. (I attend a Baptist church which has two lady ministers on the pastoral team.)We can live with peace and joy no matter...

I thought of...My worry doll is coming unraveled.
So many variations. It's nice to see a worry doll "fan".

Wonder if it will work on a "grown up" like me.
