Why can't that be my mom?

Backstory

I frequently see an older woman walking a Bichon Frise outside as I look out my kitchen windows. My mom used to walk our (ok, her) Bichon each day, too, before she broke her hip after the stroke. She can't even walk now. I always think about Mom when I see our neighbor. I even miss the dog, who didn't particularly like me.
