Backstory
On Tuesday evening, January 8, my 89-year-old mother was admitted to a hospital. There is fluid around both of her lungs and around her heart (I learned this today, January 11. A cardiologist is now treating her). Being her primary caregiver here at home, I am praying for her without ceasing. Will you also please pray for her?

So sorry to hear this tonyglim. I am praying for her and you right now. Thoughts are with you.Staraj says,
Scientists have performed double-blind studies on prayer. One control group of patients received prayer. The other didn't. The scientists discovered much to their surprise that prayer works. Even if those patients who unknowingly received prayer were atheists. TRIPLE BLIND. Furthermore, prayer worked if the persons doing the praying were atheists. QUADRUPLE BLIND.It would seem that sometimes, the blind can indeed successfully lead the blind.
Another prayer now submitted.

This evening Mother was moved from the fourth floor of the hospital to the third floor. The third floor is where heart patients are treated.tonyglim says,

I am sending virtual {{{hugs}}} and authentic prayers to you and your mom!tonyglim says,
Thank you, oopsalittle and scribbling_scribe.My mother is doing better now and feeling better. A cardiologist did a procedure on Friday afternoon to drain some of the fluid from the side of her left lung. They drained 450cc's, about half a liter, of fluid. Mother felt better after that procedure, and her appetite improved. The cardiologist who is treating her is trying to find out what caused all the fluid around her heart and lungs. On Tuesday she will have an EKG. My mother is in good spirits. She's a real trouper.

That's great newsRedx3 says,
Glad to hear she has improved some. Hope you caring for yourself as well.tonyglim says,
I always try to take good care of myself. It is not always easy for me to take good care of myself. As my mother's caregiver, I go to bed late and rise early. But I have to take as good care of myself as I can so that I can take good care of Mother.Thank you, oopsalittle and Redx3, for your comments.

Thanks, Mourningdove.JAD says,
I like you am a caregiver and I can relate. Different situations but the same love for our mom. It does get hard sometimes to keep ourselves up but we have to stay steadfast.tonyglim says,
Yes, JAD, we do indeed have to stay steadfast. Thank you for your comment.tonyglim says,
This morning (Tuesday, January 15) Mother had an echocardiogram (not the EKG that I mentioned above). Her cardiologist wants to know how much fluid there still is around her heart. Mother won't know the results of that echocardiogram until later today. She is still doing well. Her appetite is good. She is still in good spirits. Please continue praying for her.Knoxena says,
Prayers going up for your mother and also for you.tonyglim says,
Thank you, Knoxena.tonyglim says,
Mother's coming where her heart is. My mother has been discharged from the hospital and will be coming home later this afternoon (Wednesday, January 16). Because she has been discharged from the hospital, I am assuming that the results of the echocardiogram she had yesterday are good. I will find out the results when Mother gets home. I'm happy my mother's coming home. Thank you all again for keeping my mother and me in your thoughts and prayers.Mourningdove says,
Yeah!
