Thanks oopsalittle! So far visited Hawkesbury River, went wake boarding, knee boarding, tubing behind a boat and swimming. Plan on climbing The Harbour Bridge on Monday, saw the Opera house, ate at Darling Harbour, etc. Toured the Outbacks. Next week going to Featherdale to see kangaroos and koalas. Wasn't quite expecting such hot weather!, So far having a blast. Now just looking for a place to go zip lining.
I'll be here until next Sunday. The time is flying by so quickly. Today we're taking the train to Circular Quay, and then taking the ferry to Manly and some other destinations. I looked up The Sutherland Shire, and that may be a possibility. Think we'll do some boat tours as well.
Today's the most perfect day. They've erected a temporary beach volleyball stadium in the park next to North Cronulla beach- which is down the road from where I live. They're running an international tournament there at the moment, so I took some footage on my phone this morning of the athletic, pretty young things throwing themselves around on the sand while trying to hit a ball over a net. All good fun. :-)
Wow! You are squeezing in a lot of fun things. Good on ya! Glad you had time to fill us in. Love Circular Quay, love the ferry. I also love wombats! You got it right about those koalas. They are not bears! (It's an inside joke). ;o) Although it's originally a British tradition, I remember having a lovely Devonshire tea there--scones smothered with thick and wonderful clotted cream, topped off with strawberry jam. And a spot of tea on the side. Hooroo for now!
p.s. Although it was downright chilly when we got to Sydney at Christmastime several years ago, it got very toasty--110 or 112? The heat is a good reminder to slow down and enjoy each and every minute.
It's expected to reach 43*C in parts of western Sydney tomorrow, with precious little sea-breeze to make things much more comfortable for us on the coast. It might be a good day for jl333 to head down to Bondi Beach.
Bondi beach is on the agenda if time permits. I'm anxiously awaiting plans to climb to the top of the arch on The Harbour Bridge. Doesn't 43C equal roughly 116 degrees? I'm loving the train transportation around here!
these six words leapt out from the sermon I heard in church this morning. Thanks Pastor Jodi. (I attend a Baptist church which has two lady ministers on the pastoral team.)We can live with peace and joy no matter...
