Kill them all. God won't mind.

Backstory

Save the lectures please. In case you missed it on the news... Officials just arrested 254 suspects in an international child pornography operation. Of the 254 suspects, 231 live in the U.S. Of 123 children found, 14 are between the ages of 2 and 6 years old. Yes, TWO years old. of the 123 child victims, 110 were living with their captors in the U.S. These criminals were somebody's neighbor. Several were registered sex offenders. These are not the unfortunate 19 year olds that get labeled sex offender because their girlfriend was 17. These are the dregs and products of our society that should never be allowed in society again. The recidivism rate for true child predators? Sits right close to 100%. It falls just short only because the authorities don't catch everyone the second time around. Try picturing that two-year old being gang raped...with the camera rolling. Is the rapist any more guilty than the person behind the camera? Still believe in a prison sentence? I do not.

Dean6805 says,

You'll hear no argument from me. If someone harmed my child that way, I'd kill him. Slowly and painfully.

maryjane31 says,

Ditto for me. Made me feel sick.

MO_Thoughts2 says,

I'll provide the bullets.

marymc says,

I'll pull the trigger.

accidentaltourist says,

I imagine God's sorting process would be simple once it was done.

Staraj says,

I suppose I'm a softie. I'd simply maroon them on the moon. Seems fair. God made them. God made the moon.

L2L3 says,

Staraj, you crack me up.

TheUnknownComic says,

Don't shoot them, that's over too quick.

Wench says,

I got the point of this, but I couldn't even read the whole backstory. This makes me sick. I'm thinking of my little boy who is completely innocent and just... I can't read about this. It makes me too angry and upset.

L2L3 says,

I have visions of a well-placed ice auger.

Believe says,

I have this problem with torture. If it is even alluded to on movies or tv programs I have change the channel or leave. If there is a torture scene in a book I'm reading I have to ask someone else to read it, pick out only the parts that are relevant to the plot and fill me in. This weirdness has caused puking. It has caused awkward dates, awkward situations, and general awkwardness.

But for these people I would make an exception. I could even come up with a few ideas. I'd probably even volunteer to help with the torture if needed. As for God sorting them out, I could provide pieces of them that would resemble a jigsaw puzzle, my only hope being that God would have to use his thinking cap to solve the puzzle.

L2L3 says,

I don't believe anyone, includingGod would be compelled to sort.

notjustagirlintheworld says,

no mercy.

L2L3 says,

No excuses. The cycle has to stop.

L2L3 says,

Does this kind of crime deserve a lesser sentence than murderers get?

Wench says,

Watched my two nieces, five and six, and nephew, two and a half, wandering behind their mom at Macy's. I remembered this discussion and almost vomited. I felt this almost violent need to make sure I could see all of them all the time.

I'm with Believe - I can't even hear horror movies from the other room without having nightmares. I don't know if I could stand to think of these people being tortured either, though. This is where the death sentence makes a lot of sense to me. It's over quickly and it takes these people off the planet.

Dhani says,

(Yeah, I can picture 'GOD' right now up in Heaven, and you can bet the 'DUDE' is loaded to the teeth with every Divine Weapon he could think of!, ready for the Final Judgment Day when all the bad boys on earth each receive a hole in the head or what? I'm confused 'cuz the last Holy Roman Catholic Pope decreed that HELL no longer exists, so how the hell is God going to punish us?)

Dhani says,

Whatever way you want to classify 'criminals' they will always & FOREVER be your BROTHERS. (To hate & condemn them or to forgive & love them, your choice dude!)

L2L3 says,

Got any children Dhani? Guess it's easier to forgive when you can't relate? Yeah, the pedophiles deserve all sorts of love. Feel free to share yours with them. I'll let them be YOUR brothers and sisters. Quite the family. I wouldn't take the kids to the next reunion.

lillybrook says,

What are we doing with Guantanamo these days? I think this may be cause for a repurposing of that facility.

Believe says,

L2L3, you know what they say, "let him with no right to speak have the loudest opinions".......somehow that doesn't sound right...

L2L3 says,

I would be just as right if I whispered. Let all people give voice to those too broken to speak. Though it elicits great horror from the masses, much of the masses is still too uncomfortable with the issue of child sexual abuse to clearly speak out. Yes, the monsters probably came from monsters but does that necessitate tolerance for the cycle to continue? By not loudly signaling a desire to stop violence to children in its tracks, we silently, passively, give our permission for the violence to continue. Ah, the pedophiles smile at the little ones, at those who pay for their services...and at those who remain silent. They require all three to prosper.

L2L3 says,

Let him shout at the reptile community. Oh, wait, that's what they are. Then if they're brothers...

ba_miracle says,

I believe the death penalty is underused and not executed swiftly enough.

I refrain from even thinking about torture but having a short stint as a "professional torturer" some things quickly flood to mind that I must not dwell on and quickly put out of my thoughts.

Of the things us humans choose to stand on some high moral ground for the abuse of children doesn't seem to have enough longevity in its outrage.
Maybe because it is too difficult to look at for too long....like staring at the sun.

Swift snuffing out from our existence should be the the result of an adult raping a child. It is not a form of retribution, because there is none for an act so vile. One can never repay what has been taken from a child in that way....no years, no suffering, no "rehabilitation".

When we rid ourselves of these dregs it leaves more energy to focus on better things. Simple.

Dhani says,

Absolute rubbish in my humble opinion. L2L3 please take caution when you are so swift to judge, for in fact you may be TOTALLY in error. Three of my best friends were brutally murdered. I personally was raped at the age of 5. That does not oblige me as a world citizen to harbor hate or revenge in my heart. On the contrary, I am free as a BIRD now because I have chosen often in my life during traumatic times to forgive instead of hate.

L2L3 says,

You mistake hate for decisiviness and sensible allocation of resources, both personal and societal.

three-monkeys says,

I totally agree, L2L3. These people deserve no mercy...they make me SICK. I always check out the sex offenders in my area - I know where they live and there are some close by, which honestly keeps me up at night. Whenever I watch movies with this sort of content, I am haunted for months. I am a compassionate person but all that goes out the window with these animals - they deserve nothing. Even the brutality that is reserved for child molesters and rapists from their fellow inmates in prison is too good for them.

Dean6805 says,

I'll be swift to judge a child molester every time.

"Another perspective on the problem is offered by Anna Salter, one of the foremost experts on sex offenders in the country. She writes the following in her popular book Predators:

'The dry research figures only confirm what I have seen over and over in this field: there are a lot of sexual offenses out there and the people who commit them don't get caught very often. When an offender is caught and has a thorough evaluation with a polygraph backup, he will reveal dozens, sometimes hundreds of offenses he was never apprehended for. In an unpublished study by Pamela Van Wyk, 26 offenders in her incarcerated treatment program entered the program admitting an average of 3 victims each. Faced with a polygraph and the necessity of passing it to stay in the treatment program, the next group of 23 men revealed an average of 175 victims each.' " - from http://www.leadershipcouncil.org/1/res/rcd.html

Sexual predators usually don't stop until they're incarcerated or dead. So when it comes to them, fuck forgiveness. I'll take the karma hit if it must be so.

tcrog1020 says,

God says that murderers, homosexuals, lesbians, liars, thieves, child rapists, rapists, all sexual perverts shall not be allowed to live. Let him that is without sin cast the first stone... what up wid dat?

Dhani says,

A 'homosexual' is not a 'sexual pervert'. (He MAY be,just as much as a 'heterosexual' MAY be, but that's not the same definition of same-sex bonding, which you'll find quite natural in nature...)

To state that sex offenders don't stop till they're locked up or dead offers the reader a bleak picure of an illusionary world filled with hate, fear, guilt & revenge. Oh to be a FORGIVING soul that can fly DAILY like a bird....thank you God!

Dean6805 says,

According to the DSM-IV-TR diagnostic criteria for delusional disorder, grandiose type symptoms include grossly exaggerated belief of:
-self-worth
-power
-knowledge
-identity
-or exceptional relationship to a divinity or famous person.

Just sayin'...

L2L3 says,

Well Mr. Forgiveness, true sexual abusers, per statistics, case studies, court records, etc. RARELY STOP unless in prison or dead. It's a realistically bleak picture. Let he who is without children be the first to foolishly forgive. Quite often it it the person who ain't got nuttin' but no damned sense and don't know shit from shinola. Ooooh...look...shiny...

TheUnknownComic says,

So Dhani conveniently ignores Leviticus 18:22.

Wench says,

Dhani, I am sincerely trying to see your perspective. I'm sure that many child molesters have people in their lives that love or loved them and it must be gut-wrenching and confusing for them to discover this about them. I can't imagine being the wife or mother of someone and finding out that they'd molested a child. The conflicting feelings and sorrow have got to be unthinkable.

I also believe that all people are better off when they learn to forgive others and love. But there is a big, big difference between forgiving and foolishness - if someone ever touches my child, will I forgive them? Maybe, some day, I hope that I would. But would I do everything in my power to keep that person away from my son? Absolutely. We would not be friends just because I believe that I should forgive and love. I would never tell this person that it was 'ok' because there is absolutely no excuse.

So yes, I believe that the death penalty is appropriate for behavior like this. It sends a warning, it hopefully instills a little common sense and restraint, and it takes someone who has clearly demonstrated severe danger to the physical, emotional and mental well-being of a child off the streets. That child may grow up to forgive their abuser. I admire the person who is able to do that.

Believe says,

Dean pegged it.

Dhani says,

Wench: There is no 'order of difficulty' in the potent, rejuvenating act of GENUINE human forgiveness. The 'miracle worker' finds it just as easy to forgive the person who shoved him on the bus, as to forgive the demented soul who may have raped & murdered his or her child.

Dhani says,

Believe: Dean 'pegged it' my arse. There is no such animal as 'grossly exagerated self-worth'. These categories are the illusory imaginings of a deranged, atheistic psychology. I OWN self-worth, power, knowledge, Identity ('reader as my brother') and a close friendship with God. These things are true & cannot be 'exaggerated'.

Dhani says,

Comic: I don't know LEVITICUS 18:22, but is that a passage close to where the book advises that 'A man who lays with another man should be stoned'?
Sounds like sound spiritual advice...

Dean6805 says,

That went pretty much as expected, didn't it?

Believe says,

Yup.

L2L3 says,

And so it goes that my faith in both the death penalty and in the need for reinstatement of long term involuntary commitments for the chronically mentally ill has again been confirmed. There's garden variety crazy, then there's batshit nuts. Walks like guano, talks like guano, well...

Wench says,

When my brother was sick, I was so angry with the system for not allowing him to stay in a mental care facility. He wanted out and he wasn't deemed a danger to himself or others, so they let him go, multiple times, and he kept getting out of the house and going to downtown Philly barefoot and he didn't sleep at all.

Some people don't realize they're sick. But they still are. I'm with you on this, L2L3.

Dhani says,

Many of my brothers' comments above have confirmed for me what I, and one of my he-roes, the egendary Toulouse lautrec, have long-ago contened, namely: That EVIl people will see EVIl things. Even the atheists, oddly enuf, hold a PUNITIVE image of an Avenging God, and they apply thathigh Moral to the crimes they daily witness their (our) brothers committing in America 6 around the globe. It shouldn't be, but it is: the big 'secret' is: 'To forgive is to heal', without any order of difficulty...
