Getting rid of the years past.
Backstory
Literally.I realized that behind my current calendar I had 5 years worth of past calendars hanging on the hook. Although I wasn't ready to completely part with them (after all, they were holiday gifts) I at least moved them from my wall to a drawer. I'm a "dates" person so even a calendar can prompt a lot of memories and I don't need the past so prominent in my daily life.

Congratulations on your featured backstory! I only have three calendars piled up on one hook;-DContemplative says,
Great backstory. I have about five prior year's day planners filed away in my closet. Adding 2012 to them now. Just today I was able to officially use my new 2013 cheetah-print day planner. Hey, if we're talking about going wild, might as well go all the way. And couldn't agree more that I don't need the past in the present. Thanks for the reminder!!Dragonflower says,
Yes, Congratulations on your featured backstory! There is so much on this site, I miss stuff until I read in the comments. I do the same as you and keep calenders out for years because I don't want to let go. When I moved two years ago I finally let go of them because I wanted to start fresh. I tend to live in the past way to much!canadafreeze says,
Great backstory and good reminder to let go ...lillybrook says,
Maybe you can reuse some of those calendars. Years that start on a Tuesday and have 365 days include 2002, 1991, 1985, 1974, 1963... so if you have any of those hidden in a drawer or storage tub, they are ready to go!oopsalittle says,
I too can relate -Kudos on feature :)

Thanks everyone! I never thought I'd end up with a featured backstory!K8- At some point I hope that I'll be able to reuse my calendars, but for now I need to focus on staying present more and it's helpful if I can see what year it is. When that's no longer an issue though, that's a really creative idea!
