cjbrawn says,

This is actually a rip-off of a Japanese hanging at the Metropolitan Museum Art in NYC I saw about 25 years ago. It was a depiction of a winter scene. I will always remember the English translastion that was posted:
A million diamonds, winter-flung, upon a carpet white.
Love the imagery, and hated to shorten it to six words.
Had to share after the snow we had overnight, which was full of winter-flung diamonds.
