Resolved to change four days earlier.

Backstory

It's great to sit around all day but after a few days of nothing I don't know what to do with myself. Therefore I've decided to start my New Years resolution(s) early.
1) start eating better
2) stop calling my sister "retarded"
3) stop watching so much tv
4) keep my habitat cleaner
5) less negative thoughts
6) less hateful words
7) stop trying, just start doing
8) more physical activity, less sitting
9) less fighting with my mother

To top it off, I plan to document it and record the struggles that come with it. This ain't going to be easy.

I like this list and you are inspiring me. Keep us in the memoirs along your self-improvement.

Dragonflower says,

Great resolutions, The! I did #5 on your list this year. I was most negative to myself. I went to a book signing one evening last January and the speaker/author said negative self talk was like your own personal domestic violence (something like that). That made me resolve to stop immediately. It took me about two months of constant vigilance. Then one day I realized I had just stopped with the negative self talk.

Good luck to you on all your resolutions! I like that you have 9. I would have to have 10 just because I am obsessive like that! I' d make up one more just to have even number!

Thanks ddc. It's coming along okay I did the dishes but alas I'm on the couch looking up avatar the last air bender iPhone cases... ....must clean room ...& take out trash

TheAngstyPoet says,

That's a good way to see it, autumn22, domestic violence. I like it. & I love mulitiples of threes. Nine is a perfect number. Ps I hope this list will teach me to love myself.

MO_Thoughts2 says,

The world of 15 is magical. 15 minutes of activity, 15 minutes of cleaning, 15 minutes to prep some healthy food. 15 minutes is not overwhelming and most importantly the end is near. Set a timer and go. Give yourself permission to stop at 15 (even if the room is not completely clean, etc.) or decide on another 15. You will be amazed how much 15 helps. :-)

Dragonflower says,

if only we could see ourselves the way others do. I think you are just lovely, The. your memoirs are magical and the fact you actually want to improve yourself says so much about you. The short term timer suggestion is a great plan and it works! it helps you feel accomplished, which for me, makes me love myself. and, it gives you guilt free permission to watch Big Bang or other enjoyments!

TheAngstyPoet says,

Dude! This is really, really hard. I've broken like three of my resolutions just in today. It's so frustrating.... But the important part is to just remember that I'm fixing these issues.

MO, I Love the 15 min rule, might take a while to put in a effect but worth a shot.

Thanks autumn22 :3 appreciate it! & I like your thinking in regards to Big Bang.

Dragonflower says,

You can do it! A big step is even just recognizing you're breaking them! Hang in there, one day at a time. sometimes one hour at a time. you can start over as many times as you need too. we' 'll still love you! AND you have head start on other resolutions makers

consider it pregame time!

When all else fails think what Sheldon would do . :)
