Backstory
No one ever knows what I'm talking about when I say this here. It always intrigued me that it was on the calendar, so about 7 years ago I looked it up, thinking it had to do with a sport. Not so! I've always felt that in another life, I lived in England, so I decided to embrace this holiday too!

As an Anglophile, I always liked the idea of Boxing Day! And don't forget, it's also the Feast of St Stephen.canadafreeze says,
Observed and celebrated in Canada, too - part of the Commonwealth traditions:-)favepeep says,
I think Wales, and Australia do as well. Not sure about Scotland or Ireland.Dragonflower says,
Since this isn't one of our customs here in the U.S., what I've done is to think of someone who has offered their services to me in the past year; someone I might not think of right off the bat and give them a card and small gift of appreciation. Like the dry cleaning lady this year. She is very nice to me everytime I come in and she remembers my name. Without her, my skirts would be all wrinkled because I've never been able to iron worth beans! I usually just leave it on the door for when they come to work. I suppose you could say that Boxing Day has inspired me, rather than saying I actually celebrate it myself!
