Once you reach a certain age or maturity milestone, you really come to this conclusion quite on your own and realize how much of your life you've lived for other's approval or expectations, rather than your own. The first word most of us learned to speak was NO, then we forgot how to use it. Start saying NO, when you mean NO.
LL, you reminded me of a special small person in my life. One of his first sentences was "'cause no"....and that was a definitive statement in his world. He did not feel the need to explain why, "no" was his answer, and it was good enough for him.
When I reached a certain milestone birthday, I adopted it as my signature statement as well.
