No Lifetime movie, just my life.
Backstory
A long-time acquaintance and I have recently taken our relationship to a new level of confidence, sharing stories from our childhoods and personal lives that we had heretofore held in reserve, not having "that kind" of friendship. As the song "The Story" (recorded by folk rock singer Brandi Carlile, penned by Phil Hanseroth) says, "these stories don't mean anything when you've got no one to tell them to." It's lovely to be able to tell your stories, have them listen, commiserate, understand. I feel enriched by her friendship. However, my friend has also admitted that she finds herself often gathering stories like some people collect china plates or teapots. She confesses to liking to hear all the juicy details of people's lives....tales of scandal, disappointment, and pain, as well as happiness and wonder. She can live the emotions, without living the actions....just like in the movies.
