Offered best class by NOT teaching.

Backstory

Today I had a long day - which involved a 6-hour session of facilitating learning for my master students. I'm exhausted, but fueled, because today I decided not to "teach" but to bring a movie, and to invite students and two guest speakers to occupy "my" stage.

Without realising it, today I had a 'teaching' experience which is very close to what I always dreamed within the limitations of 'my' 'aging' educational system: by being in the 'background', by connecting the dots, and opening the space, today I saw students perform brilliantly, laugh, clap, ask questions, pay attention, take notes, make a role play. They did not complain that there was barely a break or time to eat. In the end, they all left smiling.

When I got home, I found a private email of a student, thanking me for the BEST class she's had in a year of her study at the master programme.

This confirms my philosophy that the art of teaching lies in the shift we make when we become Facilitator of Learning EXperiences.

That is why I changed my professional label from teacher to FLEX professional.

The shift is working.
