I'll go you one further. I was a very slow eater when I was a child. (still am, sort of). My favorite cartoon was The Jetsons and they had meals in a pill. The robot maid served them. That was my dream, my hope for a way to get away from the table faster. I also wished you could just open up your stomach, like a door, and put the food in. That's what your memoir reminded me of!
Your answer would be a delicious beef pot roast with potatoes and carrots and some veggies thrown it as well. I serve with egg noodles and rolls. Must be simmered for at least 3 hours but the meat is delicious and tender when done. You buy a chuck roast for this.
