She's officially, instantaneously, a family legend!

Backstory

The official family Thanksgiving dinner was presided over by my 88 year-old father-in-law and his 92 year-old "squeeze," Ruth. I don't recall exactly what the conversation entailed that led up to the pinnacle
moment, but probably something about how they met
and how mch the family loves Ruth. At any rate,
suddenly, not to mention cheerfully, ba_miracle asks
Ruth and my father-in-law, "So, are the two of shacking
up?" Brief silence. Father-in-law says, "Oh, no." Ruth
asks, "What did she say?" Father-in-law replies,"She
asked if we were shacking up." Ruth asks, "What? I can't
hear you?" Father-in-law yells across the table,"She
wanted to know if we were shacking up!" Ruth, in a
much smaller voice, says,"Oh...well, no." My husband
and I tried valiantly not to smirk, let alone laugh
uproariously. I was later informed that we both did laugh...out loud. No problem. Father-in-law was to busy enunciating and Ruth was too busy trying to read his lips. We then competed to see who could discreetly get to their cellphone first, to tell my husband's sister and husband the fabulous tale. It will be one of those rare, standout Thanksgiving memories that will survive into my senior years. Ba_miracle is our newest legendary family hero! She's already one of us;-D Welcome...

Great story. Legen... dary:-)

ba_miracle says,

It was right after being informed that they were each others "squeeze" and Ruth the beloved "main squeeze" (only 2 sips of champagne...must have been the bubbles;-).

L2L3 thought it funny as did the family she called on speaker phone...whilst I blushed.

I have "some" couth but you never know when my gracelessness will burst through. I've teased L2L3 that now I know she loves me because she thinks I'm funny...a sign of true love ;-).

Legen...dary ("How I met Your Mother") style.
