I'm this short for a reason!
Backstory
I'm 5'4" and in my family that's really short (average is 5'10" and up), so the joke in my family has always been that I'm short because if I was any taller I'd be too afraid to stand up (yes I'm terrified of heights... and by heights I mean anything more than 5ft off the ground).My theater teacher told me to got up on the catwalk to make sure nothing was left up there from the play last weekend, my only response to that was to (well first almost die and shortly after) say "I'm short for a reason, I'm too terrified of heights to be any taller, let alone be 100 feet off the ground."
He laughed and made me do it anyways (and I conned one of the freshmen into doing it for me to avoid the anxiety attack)

This made me smile. And there is nothing wrong with being short !I'm only 5'2", my mom is 5'0" and my grandma was 4'11". In true family progression, my daughter is 5'4" !

From what I hear my mom's 4'11" or something like that but in my dad's family there is no one over age 14 and under 5'7" except of course me and my sister.I've been this height since I was 13 (I think I may have actually grown because I used to be 5'3" from my memory anyways). I've gotten used to the short jokes, thankfully, and sometimes manage to turn them around on people, but this is by far my favorite one to say because my sister and I are tied for the shortest people in the family and always get told to get a ladder and do something.
