197,000,000 square miles and 7,079,820,601 tenants

Backstory

Math problem. Dividend is constant. Divisor increases by the second. What's the answer?

The tenants can also be called "shareholders". But the dividend remains a dividend – albeit with smaller and smaller shares. Share and share alike?

42 ...

Staraj says,

42? Show your work. Meanwhile, that pesky divisor is bigger now. And that's what creates the "work" for all of us. And keeps us at the drawing board.

Staraj says,

A-ha! I haven't read the novel, though I'm familiar with the title. So be it. We are each free to choose an answer. 42 seems apropos for denizens of this website, since numerologically, it reduces to 6. Which is also the number of days it took God to create the world. (What was the hurry?) So, maybe the answer is 6.

42? 6? Or 7,079,820,601 . . . and counting? But who's counting? Who's accounting? Who "counts"? I'll keep at the drawing board. Still trying to figure out how to DO the math.
