Humiliation. Tasting ashes and day-old vomit.



Backstory

It roils around in the stomach like bad Chinese food and burns in the flesh like a deadly tropical fever. The thing about humiliation is, we usually set ourselves up for it. We engage is some behavior that is ill-advised, potentially unhealthy for our minds or spirits, and ultimately we are destroyed when we get burned.


Bitter-tasting indeed. And yet....how often do we learn from our mistakes? Someday, perhaps I will.
