Their service will never be forgotten.

Backstory

As a mother, daughter, cousin, aunt, and niece of servicemen, I can only say thank you for the sacrifices you make. The big ones are always easy to identify...the loss of life, or of limb....but the small ones, like missing a child's birth, kindergarten play, or graduation...those are often overlooked.

To all those who have gone before, and all those who will come, our eternal gratitude.

Thank you for your lovely tribute. In Canada, it is called Remembrance Day, but the sentiments are the same.

AT, there's a song by josh groban that you might want to listen to. after reading this memoir i checked to make sure it's on youtube. josh explains that whenever he's in the d.c. area he visits walter reed, and his talks with wounded service members there inspired him to write about the challenges those who have served face when they return. it's called "war at home" and it's another moving tribute to those have served.
