MotorCityMich,not usually one of my pet peeves because I've had to sit through (and give) many an amateur speech. I would just appreciate a little more certainty from political "professionals".
K822, "dude" was the last word in this six but I had to cut it. I think I'm a "like" offender...I'm from silicon valley originally..so this gave me an extra giggle.

Reminds of an episode on How I Met Your Mother. Robin used the phrase, "but, um" so much during her on air interviews that the college students in Ted's class starting using it as a drinking game. Funny episode. I find I use "thing" a lot to describe stuff. Also "stuff".ba_miracle says,
How I Met Your Mother is a thoroughly enjoyable show Autumn22 (glad to meet another imbiber ;-).The Kings Speech came to mind. He required extra efforts in elocution and put forth the effort.
I may benefit from a little My Fair Lady training.
