"Very early results" aren't results, people.

Backstory

One of the most annoying things about election coverage is the inability for media pundits to just WAIT. They have to talk about something, so what they end up doing is spouting eighteen plus hours' worth of twaddle until the real results are available. Therefore, I tend to listen to my music and talk about pretty things on Tuesday, and check the results on Wednesday morning.

And why can't they do it in six words?

Dean6805 says,

THAT!

accidentaltourist says,

I will not be waiting up for late-breaking news, that's for sure. And I'm actually IN the news biz. My editor hates that I don't care.

Dean6805 says,

I apparently don't have strong enough opinions to make a good journalist. ;)

accidentaltourist says,

Nor do I. I'm the one who gives your kid's school play a glowing review, even if the leading man threw up on the leading lady.

Dean6805 says,

A reporter with heart? A rare breed, indeed!

accidentaltourist says,

:) If I had less heart, I might have more prestigious awards to my credit, as do many of my compatriots at the competition. But I'm okay with that.

Dean6805 says,

Yet another reason why... ;)

Loon says,

they seduce, and we allow...

I listened to a most interesting and entertaining interview with p.j. o'rourke today on Canadian public radio ... He made some interesting observations about rights and laws in the U.S. I would much rather listen to that than the minute by minute minutia that is spraying across radio and television, and not just in the U.S. I choose music for the rest of my day:-)

Dean6805 says,

CF, I prefer to listen to NPR. They're the coolest heads in all of the media. Even so, come mid-October of an election year I've had all I can take so I just work my mp3 player overtime and smile.

Level1 says,

We had no power so we listened to the returns on NPR. It was interesting to listen to what was going on rather than being bombarded by "magic" maps as we usually are. I was also texting with two friends who were reporting what was being said on television as they watched. NPR did not call the race until a good half an hour after all the TV channels had. It truly felt like we had stepped back in time for a few moments to when things used to be slower. It was kind of nice.
