In Oz, you are fined if you don't vote. In my opinion, you shouldn't NEED to have the threat of financial penalty to get out there, fill out your ballot form, and place it (neatly) in the box. There are people around the world dying for the right to vote, and there are those that live in democratic countries like yours and mine who simply couldn't be bothered. Love the democratic (ass) reference, btw. :-)
