Backstory
this is a play on the meaning of the word "abstract" as a summary of an academic text. it's also an admission that i just do not "get" abstract art. i love the french impressionists, but people like mark rothko leave me thinking, "but what makes that ART?" if anyone wants to give me a new perspective, a different way to think about this, i'll welcome the education.

Very thoughtful expression:-)aussiegirl625 says,
Art is, I believe, an expression of the soul; if creating his paintings is what makes him *feel* then it is art. To me, art is wrapping wires around stones or knotting string or putting together different ideas, colours, patterns, and textures to express the feeling of an idealistic truth...sometimes that results in something as simple as an Origami crane and sometimes it is as complex as multimedia canvas creations...that's how I see it, if it helps at all...MotorCityMich says,
I have no words of advice, it just made me laugh because it reminded me of the time my husband and I went to the DIA and when we got to the modern art section he looked at one of the paintings and said "It looks like a purple ping pong table!" rather loudly. The other people in the room burst out laughing and I quietly slunk out of the room while he grinned like a Cheshire Cat!
