My shiny's not so bright today.
Backstory
Been saying this for many years and can't find it on the internet.My friends and I would say this to each other when we knew we needed to let a bad day or whole period of time pass.
Sometimes we still do.
For almost a year after giving my son up for adoption, I didn't think I'd make it.
There were days when the longing was so deep that I could hardly see anything beyond it. Even and sometimes especially around my beloved daughter.
Someone said that they missed my sparkle and that was my response.
I had the best friends to help me through that time...and still do.
Not all of them have made it to sobriety and one simply did not survive this life.
Some things take time to move through and when you can't shine enough to find your way, it's nice to know someone at the end of that tunnel has a remembrance of your own light waiting for you.
Thank you for letting me be dull and loving me anyhow. I love you.
I know your shiney's not going to shine for awhile. Don't worry it is etched in my soul and I'll keep it until your ready.
Just please stay and remember this will pass.
