canadafreeze says,

...congrats on MOTD. What's the caption?:-)

notjustagirlintheworld says,

yes, congrats and please reveal!

ctgoods2 says,

I like this a lot - congrats!

DynamicDbytheC says,

Well you are starting to have an exciting life with your MOTD!

Staraj says,

Wow! Six Word accolades for me?! I'm a relative newbie here. (I had to Google "MOTD". I'm a nerd, too.) I didn't even know about my "award" until canadafreeze alerted me. Good thing I just completed my profile. Now, that I'm a "celebrity", the paparazzi will want to know every sleazy detail of my six-word life. But as I anticipate the flashbulbs which will blind me when I attempt to sneak out the backdoor for a mundane trip to the corner market, I must attend to the challenge for a caption. I hadn't actually thought about it prior. Of course, it can't be just any caption. It must be in six words. And worthy of a MOTD winner. Hmmmmm . . . here it is. Hope I make it true. I hope EVERYBODY ON EARTH can make it true. Thanks for the comments, fellow Six-Worders. Up next for me: Leno and Letterman. :-)

Love and Happiness Surplus for Life

canadafreeze says,

Nice motto ... Well done:-)

Redx3 says,

Congrats on MOTD!

Dhani says,

'STARCHILD'...now I find your memoir to be very inspiring. In a way, it's puzzling: do you write the 'caption' of your life first and then search for a 'match' or the other way around?...One could look at a witty epitaph and call that a 'caption'.

By the by, have you posted on THE MOMENT? I find it very thrilling to capture 'just the right' words for the 'caption' there -are you feeling me?

Yours is one of the more intelligent sixes amidst a lotta crap, let's be honest. (Adding injury to insult, there are horrible, mispelled, where the memoirists don't take the energy to go back & correct their 'work' because they know they know deep inside ain't worth 'mierda'!.

Congrats!

Staraj says,

Dhani and everyone else, thanks for the nice (more than six) words. My six word entries materialize like the, ahem, aphorisms that I've come up with over the years. They just pop into -- or is that out of? -- my head. Same with my MOTD. However, canadafreeze spurred me to actually create the pre-lauded caption. I wrote it. And I believe it. Or more accurately stated: I believe IN it. In its potential.

I'm an incorrigible idealist. If Smith Mag is going to give me free rein, then I'm going to lament lost loves. But I'm also going to lament lost love of Earthlings for Earth and Earthlings for Earthlings. And in my own small way here and elsewhere, I will continue to try to inspire love's triumph.

Didn't know about The Moment. Thanks for the heads-up. And as regards the many misspelled words . . . yes, I too find those sad. A deliberately misspelled word to make the memoir convey the author's intent is certainly acceptable. However, some of them are rather obvious indicators of ignorance or laziness -- use the spell check people!

This is a great community! Exemplifying the old expression: "You show me yours and I'll show you mine." Yet, we get to retain our mysterious anonymity. (Though I'd quickly give up mine if Oprah, for some odd reason, wanted to "favorite" me.)

Thanks again all. Now, I gotta go check out The Moment.

Staraj says,

Oh, here's a late P.S. -- It's interesting that Dhani would refer to me as "Starchild". That's one of those loaded terms that goes straight to one's head at light speed. But, yes, I've been told I am one. I just hope I can live up to the celestial billing. We're talking galactic size shoes to fill. :-)

favepeep says,

Congrats on having the MOTD! I enjoyed your musings as well.

Dhani says,

STARCHILD Calling the kettle black! I misspelled the word 'misspelled'! Where are the cream pies, mates!

Staraj says,

No worries mate. Ironically, misspelled may be the most, uh, misspelled word in the English language. However, spell check should have provided a red underline in the text box. To wit: misppelled.
