Abridging autobiography. Couldn't read own handwriting.

Backstory

My 4th grade teacher was appalled at my penmanship and to my horror she made an example of me to the class. As a result, my writing skills never got much better. When I shop for groceries, I usually buy half what's on the list. Can't read the rest. Anyway, for most everything else that needs to be written, I say, Thank God for Computers!

NumbrOneAunt says,

loved the memoir, but the backstory made me sad...well, sad for you but angry at the teacher! great teaching strategy - NOT!!

DynamicDbytheC says,

Great tactic to save money when you shop. If you can't read it, you won't buy it.

zsuzsa says,

Thanks, folks. Yes, suppose my problem helps me to be economical in both eating food and writing words.

accidentaltourist says,

Somehow, I think for me that "Oreos" would be very easy to read, where as "broccoli" would be indecipherable.

Level1 says,

zsuzsa, did you also have Mrs. Ward for 4th grade?! The same thing happened to me. As a fellow illegible scribe, I love this memoir :-)

Loon says,

backstory very helper-

daveat61 says,

Funny.

zsuzsa says,

Ha Ha, Loon. Can't read YOUR handwriting. And Level1, my empathies to you. BTW her name was Mrs. Stillman--kind of lived up to it too.
