What Believe said. You'd be surprised at the age range here. I think TheAngstyPoet, Calliandra and Hannah are all kind of close in age to you and they are all awesome. We like you! Stick around! Bring some friends!
Sometimes I feel too young here....not in age, but in experiences. There are those who are much younger in years, who have walked much more difficult paths than I, and have much to share.
I agree that I love to hear from a fresh, young voice as much as from anyone else. Everyone has something to offer. Enjoy being young, it is as much a gift as having the privilege to grow old.
I love all the wise words, heart-felt compliments and encouragement here. I think AT said it best: We have all walked different paths and the ability to freely and safely share all here is just amazing.
Ditto. You "younger" contributors remind me of a time and place, a moment where we all had similar experiences, regardless of the years, generations that have gone by. You give us depth, and many seem so wise beyond your years. You also give us faith in the generations to come.
Thanks everyone! That really means a lot. It's just, sometimes I read through some of your memoirs and am in awe of your wit/talent/insight/etc. I never have any chance of coming close to that.
SingerSomewhere, the fact that you are here and writing tells me that you have wit/talent/insight/etc. You have it all, don't sell yourself short. And your wit/talent/insight/etc. will grow with time.
How old are you SingerSomewhere? I bet we're around the same age. Well when I started to look through some of your memiors, I noticed that you have a really nice voice to your writing. As DynamicDbytheC said, don't sell yourself short. You really are a talented writer. :)
Singer, i agree with DD - don't denigrate your own talent, wit and insight. i would add that beyond those things you have a good heart; hold on to that - it's every bit as important as those other qualities! i hope you'll stay here on SMITH - i, for one, will enjoy watching you and hannnahmo and angsty (and other young contributors, but you three are the ones who come most readily to mind right now) grow. also, for whatever it's worth, i did not read larry's message the same way hieronimo did - i don't get the feeling at all that he's asking you to leave SMITH and post exclusively on the teen site. after all, he started his comment by saying you're very welcome here. have a great weekend, ok?
It’s a sad, all too familiar story: harsh, distant, alcoholic father, sensitive, shy daughter always seeking his love and approval. Although there were flashes of kindness, most of my dad’s feelings had been buried long before. Even as...

You are one of the few younger sixers that can really hold their own. You generally have a mature voice. Keep sixing. We like you.Wench says,

I'd give my right arm to be young again. And you've got to start somewhere. Enjoy the process of becoming yourself.Bevvie says,
Those writers at SMITHteens write some wonderful memoirs. I read them daily. Would have loved to have had them in my classes.NumbrOneAunt says,
