Many couplets that I read...aren't.
Backstory
I like microwriting...haiku, six word stories (the term I prefer over memoirs) and couplets. In a search of websites dedicated to couplets and couplet poems, it is rare to find a true couplet. Yes, the six-word MEMOIR name is a bit misleading because, I'd hazard a guess, most "memoirs" on this website aren't actually memoirs. There is at least one other six-word site that I'm aware of- that being www.sixwordstories.net. It's not as good as this one, but worth a look if you haven't already done so.SnowGirl says,
Thanks, yes I've seen that one and some blogs here and there. I was looking around the web to see what was out there in the way of couplets because I find them fun to write but most of what I've found is not a couplet...syllable counts are wrong, etc. I like the challenge of saying as much as possible with the fewest words possible...
