Shoes, socks, smile. Ready for work.

Backstory

I have a fun job working at a recreation center. The people who come in are generally happy to be getting fit, or taking one of our many classes/excursions. They're doing something positive for their health. Each one has a different life story, things they're doing or working on, places they've seen or will be seeing shortly, family, opinions, changes-Life. I enjoy checking them in at the front desk, answering questions, or just chatting, finding out more about them. Because we have a Cardio/Weight room, close-toed shoes and socks are a must lest a stray 45 lb. weight should drop on my toes.
And the smile? It goes best with my favorite camo capris. It is afterall, a casual and most enjoyable place to wear both.

Dean6805 says,

Sounds like an interesting job for a "people person." Those little interactions can turn into stories, you know.

it's nice to enjoy your job, isn't it? if you have any tips on how to STICK WITH an exercise program, they'd be most appreciated. I have a treadmill and dumbells here at home. i get all enthusiastic and tell myself that i'm really gonna do it this time, really gonna keep it up..lasts about 2 weeks. I'm sure this isn't the first time you"ve heard this story. :)

So right, Dean. Love the people part, talking about things & getting to know them, customer service. And right again, interactions can sometimes lead to perspectives lead to stories.

NOA, I got bored years ago trying to stick with an exercise routine, too. You're giving it an honest effort at home, it sounds like! Used to be that the results of it all kept up my motivation.
Now I do a mix: the "functional" kind (park my car away from the store to walk more of those 10,000 steps), got a dog so I would have to walk him!, and added stuff that includes other friends and/or music (a weight lifting class where the instructor leads us and uses music in the background to help us keep time while doing a variety of epuipment & repetitions), and Zumba dance class (addictive, good cardio)!
So see what your Inner Fitness Guru might like.
Maybe you would like being the instructor for the type of fitness that is your passion :) .
