I think the billions and billions of dollars spent around the world each year on "beauty" products, cosmetic surgery, fashion, diet pills, and psychiatrists to help repair people's broken self-esteem would suggest that nobody underestimates the power of pretty.
I was thinking of it in another sense, as well. Think of all the products we choose simply because they're "pretty". For example, my friend bought a laptop based on the color. Often, we don't even realize how we are manipulated by beauty.
