Maurice's heaven; Where Wild Things Are.

Backstory

Maurice Sendak is my absolute favorite book illustrator. His drawings were the first ones I was able to identify as a child, and I've collected many of his books along the way. RIP Maurice.

His illustrations for Else Minarik's Little Bear collection was my first exposure to Mr. Sendak's work and colored a lifetime love of books, art and all things creative.

It was the Little Bear books and No Fighing, No Biting, also by Else Minarik, that I recall vividly. I still have them.
For all of you writers, you may be interested in "I Saw Isau", edited by Iona and Peter Opie, illustrated by Maurice Sendak. It's a collection of children's old chants and rhymes, insults and riddles.
