Found a lump right before Christmas; mammogram, ultrasound, biopsy, diagnosis. On the plus side, we didn't have to cancel the wedding. My surgery is the week after.
You will never forget this remarkable time in your life. So good that you have love to celebrate, and you will get through the cancer -- I believe it. Stay strong!
I'm sure with the love of your new husband and others you will not only have a wedding to celebrate, but renewed health as well. Many blessings to you both.
In a twisted way, I think it is nice that you have the wedding in the midst of this diagnosis. You have so much positive stuff to focus on and look forward to that I hope it overshadows all the cancer crud. Have been down the cancer aisle 6 times between myself and my husband. I just ran (ok jogged, I am not fast) a marathon. I hope you have hope. Looking to lots of fun 6ers from you regarding your wedding and recovery. I have a mastectomy coming up and I saw a t-shirt at the 3-day that sums it up, "Ya they are fake, the real ones tried to kill me." Save the tatas.
*This will sound strange to many ears, but this traumatic event may prove to be the best thing that happened to you in your life. At least that was my experince encountering cancer in 2006 & becoming aware of what really matters in my life when the chips are down.(I'm now fully cancer-free and the wiser for it.
Love everyone's messages. When I had my mastectomy, I wanted to design shirts that said "Work Zone.
Under Re-construction".
I think all things became clearer that year.
these six words leapt out from the sermon I heard in church this morning. Thanks Pastor Jodi. (I attend a Baptist church which has two lady ministers on the pastoral team.)We can live with peace and joy no matter...
