Teaching Six to seven and eight.

Backstory

Wish me luck, guys! Tomorrow I begin an experimental project. I'm working with a public school teacher to introduce a second grade class to the joys of six-word memoiring. (I'm aware that last word is not a real word, but it damn well should be.) Should be interesting to see what they come up with. Inspired by this guy named Larry, I have decided to start off with giving them a topic. Topic is: returning. Feel free to make suggestions. I will keep you posted. Really excited about this!!

It's important to me that these children realize what an awesome outlet writing can be. So many people grow up believing that stories are all about the number of pages, think Harry Potter. I want them to realize that there can be joy in short, depth in short, suspense in short...

So far so good! We came up with a bulletin board style workboard. There are six columns ( one for each word ). They are getting there feet wet and testing the limits. I am thinking about posting theirs as a class profile. What does you think about that?
