Students chatter. Ask question. Suddenly silence.

Backstory

As a teacher, there are plenty of times where I ask my students to "discuss" about a topic and then hear them chat for the length of time I give them to do so. However, as soon as I ask them to share their answers the room falls deathly silent. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly that silence comes. Figured I would share this one for any other teachers who have experienced the same. Always working to help them try and break this wall and become more confident. Some things just take time I suppose. Baby steps!
